Kollias Panagiotis

Panagiotis Kollias was born in Athens in 1977 and grew up in Wuppertal, Germany. He has graduated from the University of Athens, Discipline of Philology, Department of Archaeology and History of Art. His first motivations and influence for painting and especially hagiography were received by his family (his grandfather and his mother are eminent hagiographists well known in Greece and abroad). Since 1995 his personal pursuits led him to hagiography.
He is also a graduator of the Educational Centre of Hagiography of the holly cathedral of Piraeus, where he was taught by the professors Mr. K. Markopoulos, Mr. N. Liondas and Mr. G. Bozas. Under their supervision and guidance he expertised in free drawing, hagiography, conservation and mosaic work. He has also attended classes of hagiography in “Ikonourgia” school, run by G. Kordis and he has participated in seminars of encaustic art. He works with his mother in fresco-painting in churches. Some of his works can be found in private collections in Chicago, Germany, Italy and Korea.
He is a member of the Panhellenic Association of Hagiographists.
