Mamais Nektarios

He was born in Athens in 1968. He graduated from Higher Ecclesiastic School of Athens in 1992. He continued his studies in the Theological Department of Athens University where he was awarded his degree in 1996. He has also taken his Master’s Degree on iconography (theory and practice). He has been working as a teacher of theology in Leonteio Lykeio of Nea Smyrni since 1997.

He has attended courses of drawing and painting in the Centre of Fine Arts. He was an apprentice of painter-iconographer G. Kordis, who taught him the sacred art of iconography and who collaborates with him. He is a member of the Panhelleninc Union of Iconographers and vice president of the Union Iconourgia.

He has been teaching iconography in the schools of Nikaia See, in the private school of arts AKTO, as well as in the Union Iconourgia since 1998. He has participated in many joint exhibitions of Byzantine painting. He works on painting portable icons, for churches and private individuals, as well as on illustrating books of AKRITAS publications.
